Lydiard Park Friends Research projects

Research Grant awarded for inspection and transcribing of original documents

While Nottingham Castle is closed to the public a small group of researchers have been able to read the documents held at the castle which relate to Lucy Hutchinson and her family. Lucy was the daughter of Lucy St.John, the youngest sister of Sir John St.John 1st Bart. of Lydiard. We look forward to getting a full report of their findings and we are delighted to support this important new research project.

An analysis of the South Tower Roof Structure at Lydiard House Wiltshire

 

Lydiard House is a Grade 1 listed building formerly the country seat of the St. John family (Viscounts Bolingbroke) located on the Western fringes of Swindon in Wiltshire. The house was originally a medieval manor house which was remodelled 1738-1743.
