Lydiard’s Walled Garden is the home of a wonderful collection of heritage apple trees, and September is the prime time for sampling these delicious fruits.

Join us for a celebration of Lydiard’s historic orchard on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September at the Coach House and Walled Garden. Our annual Heritage Apple Day returns with a new exhibition titled In Search of Apples, exploring the fascinating stories behind the traditional apple varieties grown at Lydiard.

The exhibition opens at 1pm–4pm on Saturday, and continues on Sunday from 11am–4pm. Discover the origins, uses, harvest times, and intriguing facts about each illustrated apple variety, beautifully displayed in both artworks and informative panels. Don’t miss the wonderful apple presentation table, featuring gorgeously illustrated printed apple pages and expert insights into these rare and delicious heritage fruits.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener, history enthusiast, or simply enjoy a good apple, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
